mount gambier north mortonFrom May 30th to 5th June Doreen & I (Alistair Kennedy) had a wonderful time on this visit to a city I didn't really know – a city quite a bit bigger than Adelaide with lots of high-rise. That's Brisbane.

Our hosts Kathy & Greg Brunckhorst were wonderful hosts. Kathy being President was such a good example to her club, and her club-members reflected this warmth and concern for all ambassadors. Brisbane Club was represented as well as Melbourne.

The program was very full with lots of driving and photo opportunities. Greg was uncomplaining and it would seem to be the normal schedule for guests to of this club in Queensland.

It was interesting seeing Surfers Paradise in the off-season and a little bit of the Sunshine Coast. The Brisbane River is just beautiful and the city itself seemed very safe and welcoming.

The Glasshouse Mountains were just beautiful and of course we had to visit the beaches. There were also four ambassadors from Sydney who seemed to enjoy the warmth of the welcome.

In Queensland they loved to party! I hope that doesn't mean we're 'staid' and 'stay homers' but then they have the weather, don't they?

A few of them expressed interest in the Murray Bridge exchange in February and there's also the Melbourne Australian Convention where we hope to catch up with our hosts and re-new other friendships.

We highly recommend these domestic exchanges for future reference.
