A TYPICAL JOURNEY WITH US.

The club has a close relation with the Bundaberg Regional Council who normally host a welcome morning tea for international ambassadors at the council chambers. Visits to Mon Repos Turtle Park, Bundaberg Rum Distillery and Bundaberg Brewed Drinks factory prove to be rewarding for ambassadors. Pot- luck dinners, walks along the beach coastline at Bargara and bar-b-ques on the beach prove to be popular events.  Short drives into the rich agriculture countryside give ambassadors a taste of the wide varieties of agricultural and horticultural crops grown in the region.

ABOUT THE REGION.

The region was first settled in 1867 when two timber getters co-founded Bundaberg. Farming started in the in the first year and a timber mill was erected in 1868.The region has rich soil and thus agriculture became an important part of the economy. This has been further developed in recent years assisted by warm sunny conditions and a reliable supply of irrigation water. Bundaberg has developed a rapidly expanding tourism industry and is now marketed as the Southern Gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. It boasts the most equitable climate of any city in Australia and is rated fifth in the world.
