adelaide-0The Friendship Force of Adelaide was formed in June, 1984. The club draws its members from the city and surrounding suburbs, and has a membership of approximately 100. The photo on the left shows Adelaide city buildings behind the Adelaide cricket ground oval. The club normally has two incoming journeys and one outbound journey each year, but has a policy of being flexible with this.

The club has meetings bi-monthly to maintain contact with membership. This involves a meeting to deal with club business together with a variety of general interest activities. A meal is provided prior to each meeting and has become an important social time for the members. A variety of other social functions are offered throughout the year.

The number of ambassadors Adelaide Friendship Force can host is 30 plus but this number is flexible. The preferred times of the year for journeys are March to May and September to November.Ambassadors are met at the airport by their hosts and taken from there to their accommodation.

Each journey is organised by a committee. A varied program is planned which is a mix of organised activities and free time for hosts and ambassadors to pursue whatever they mutually wish to do. There is usually an organised full day bus trip to a well known tourist area. A dinner and some other social activity which enables the participation of members not hosting is also arranged. The program also leaves ample time to visit the regions many and varied shopping areas.
