Sydney is a diverse city with many, many attractions. The focal point of the city is the beautiful harbour spanned by our famous bridge with the spectacular Opera House nearby.

All of our inbound journeys (alias exchanges) will probably spend part of their visit on or around the harbour. There will also be opportunities to view some of Australia’s unique wildlife and our city’s shops ranging from department stores to small boutiques catering for all those who like to take home gifts and souvenirs.

Although Sydney is a very young city (just over 200 years old) our early history has been preserved around the Rocks area – the first area to be settled – and along Macquarie St where the first substantial buildings were built. Around the harbour are many areas set aside as National Parks with the Royal National Park, a little south of the city, one of the world’s oldest National Parks, second only to Yellowstone Park in USA.

The South coast of NSW boasts many miles of magnificent coastline with beautiful beaches and a spectacular Bridge which winds around the cliff faces. A visit to the Blue Mountains with their dramatic rock formations is an enjoyable day trip.

If ambassadors wish, it is even possible to arrange an overnight trip to Canberra, the nation’s capital. This, of course, would come at extra cost to pay for accommodation.

Sydney boasts a temperate climate having quite mild winters but the months of November to January can be very hot. This makes the best time to visit March to May and September to October.
