blue mountains 2 mediumThe Friendship Force of the Blue Mountains was formed in February 2007. The club draws its members from the Blue Mountains and the Penrith area and has a membership of 36. Our bimonthly meetings are business meetings for planning, followed by tea and coffee with time for members to chat. Social events of interest to members are held each month. Usually we have two to three inbound journeys each year, and one outbound journey. We are a busy, active club.

Typical Journey, Program and Costs:
Transport: Incoming Journeys can be met at Sydney Airports, or travel by train from Sydney to The Blue Mountains.
Approximate Cost of transportation per person: by minibus from Sydney Airport to the mountains ( based on 15 passengers): A$20
by train from Sydney Central to the mountains: A$6.50

Program
Our club welcomes you into our homes with shared meals and group dinners. Our sightseeing program varies, as we showcase our area with visits including an Aboriginal experience, The Three Sister, Scenic World, Blue Mountains Cultural Centre, Jenolan Caves, Featherdale Wildlife Park, mountain gardens, Nepean River, wilderness areas and bushwalks. Free time is also included to pursue individual interests or spend time with hosts.  We strongly suggest that clubs visiting our area also factor in a short stay in Sydney before or after visiting the Blue Mountains.

Costs
A week’s program usually costs:
FFI fees + US$150 + AUD$75 – variable depending on entry fees and travel to venues.
